Woolworths at Work partners with Affinity Education for Give Back Day initiative
At Woolworths at Work, we’re all about giving a little good to our business customers, every day. As part of this commitment, on 15 December, our team took part in our annual Give Back Day initiative — a day that saw us down tools for the day to join our volunteer partner and valued customer, Affinity Education, to lend a helping hand with end-of-year jobs at their centres.
A team of 75 Woolworths at Work volunteers visited 21 Affinity Education centres in Sydney, Melbourne and elsewhere in Western Australia and Queensland to help out with tidying, cleaning, gardening and assorted odd jobs on their centres’ to-do lists.
Managing Director of Woolworths at Work, Jarad Nass, shared his perspective on the Give Back Day volunteering initiative.
“We know how important Affinity Education’s work is in nurturing the minds of young Australian children — so it’s been highly rewarding to partner with them for Give Back Day and to lighten the manual load at their centres, so they can continue focusing on the important work they do. Not only did this initiative allow us to give a little good to our communities, but also to a valued customer of ours — whose goal of creating shining stars aligns with our own values of creating a better tomorrow,” said Jarad.
Head of Publicity and Engagement at Affinity Education, Carla Adams, shared how Affinity centres benefited from Give Back Day.
“We were thrilled to be selected as a volunteer partner for Woolworths at Work’s Give Back Day initiative. Educators at our centres have a busy job looking after all the children in our care and creating inspiring early learning experiences — so it was a real value-add for our partner to come and help with those jobs on the to-do list that our centre teams may not get round to. Our teams were thrilled to welcome Woolworths at Work’s hard-working volunteers into our centres — the day really strengthened our partnership,” explained Carla.
Woolworths at Work was also a proud Gold Sponsor of the 2023 Affinity Awards, which contributed to the supply of Morning Tea at the organisation’s nationwide AffiniTEA events.
Give Back Day is an annual volunteering initiative that takes place on 15 December. As proud members of the Woolworths Group, Woolworths at Work is committed to giving back to our community. From partnering with OzHarvest to support food relief for vulnerable Australians to providing Junior Landcare Grants to bring school gardening projects to life, we take pride in bringing a little good to businesses, every day.
